http://www.tc.umn.edu/~hause011/NF/ and www.aydmill.org Neighborhoods First newsletter Feb 10, 2002. Hi Neighbor, We have been getting support from the District Councils for the LOW COST-No Connect "Stripe, Walk, Bike Ayd Mill" plan to allow people to use Ayd Mill on foot as well as automobile. All district councils we asked have backed the plan including Merriam Park, Snelling-Hamline, and Summit-University. >> Feb 11, Monday at the Dayton's Bluff District Council meeting we will present the "Stripe, Walk, Bike Ayd Mill" proposal. If you live in the Dayton's Bluff neighborhood you may wish to support the proposal. >> Feb 14, 7:00pm Thursday, at the Mac-Grove District Council meeting in the Edgecombe Rec Center at Grotto we will present the "Stripe, Walk, Bike Ayd Mill" proposal. If you live in the Mac-Grove neighborhood you may wish to support the proposal. >> "Stripe, Walk, Bike Ayd Mill" is a LOW COST proposal to put people walking and biking into Ayd Mill with "NO CONNECT" to freeways. It will take the initiative away from freeway builders, calm traffic, and open 20 acres of green space. The city has prohibited pedestrians and bikes from Ayd Mill for decades and we need to make this city street part of our neighborhood by using it like other streets. The proposal can be printed from: http://www.tc.umn.edu/~hause011/NF/Stripe.txt or http://www.aydmill.org A letter asking the district councils to consider "Stripe, Walk, Bike" can be copied from: http://www.tc.umn.edu/~hause011/NF/Stripe_councils.txt Write the City Council about "STRIPE, WALK, BIKE Ayd Mill Road."
